CCTV Integration: Show the Right Camera Automatically
Turn an alarm or door event into a live camera popup.
The flow is: event, mapping table, real-time push, popup. A table links each event source (a door, a fire zone) to one or more cameras, so the backend knows what to show.
Browsers cannot play RTSP, so a media server such as go2rtc or MediaMTX converts the stream to WebRTC or HLS. The backend pushes the event and camera list to the dashboard over SignalR or WebSocket.
- Keep camera credentials on the server, never in the browser
- Put cameras on a separate VLAN
- Save only snapshots or clips to the cloud to control bandwidth
- Define who can view footage and how long it is kept
